Nutrition Facts labels.
Done in Illustrator. In seconds.

NutriFacts Max is an Adobe Illustrator panel that generates FDA-compliant Nutrition Facts labels as fully editable vector artwork — straight onto your artboard, on its own organized layer. Built for packaging designers, art directors, and food-industry studios.

You didn't become a designer to build nutrition tables.

Hours rebuilding the same layout

Every SKU. Every revision. Same tedious table-drawing, rule-weighting, copy-pasting work.

Second-guessing FDA compliance

Wrong spacing, wrong type size, wrong rule weight. Every time.

Switching between tools

Excel, Word, online generators — then back to Illustrator to fix everything.

Built for the people who already know what they're doing.

NutriFacts Max is a tool for automation, not education. It assumes you live in Illustrator, you know what a Nutrition Facts panel needs to look like, and you're tired of rebuilding it by hand for every SKU and every revision.

Everything you need. Nothing you don't.

Six core capabilities that turn label production from a half-day job into a few clicks.

01

Generate in seconds

Fill in the data, click Generate. A grouped vector label drops onto the artboard, on its own dedicated "NutriFacts" layer.

02

AI Scan

Drop in a JPG, PNG, or WebP — or scan existing artwork right on your artboard. The plugin reads the label and detects the FDA format automatically.

03

8 official FDA formats

Standard, Simplified, Micro Side-by-Side, Tabular, Linear V1, Linear V2, Multi-Column, and Dual Column. Every regulatory layout, ready out of the box.

04

Bulk import & Catalog

Pull data from Excel, CSV, or a published Google Sheet. The Catalog stores your last import so you can switch between SKUs and regenerate without re-importing.

05

Density modes

Compact trims vertical spacing. Narrow condenses to 85% width. Both keep the label legible and compliant on tight packaging.

06

100% editable vectors

Every element is a native Illustrator object — text, paths, rules, spacing. Tweak anything by hand if your design calls for it.

The "magic" feature

AI Scan: turn any existing label into a clean, compliant panel.

Powered by Anthropic (Claude) or OpenAI APIs, AI Scan reads nutrition data from existing visual sources — drag-and-drop a JPG, PNG, or WebP into the panel, or use Scan Selected to convert old vector groups, live text, or placed images right on your artboard.

  • Auto-detects the FDA format and switches the panel to match
  • Drag-and-drop image scan — no upload, no separate app
  • Scan Selected lifts data straight off the artboard
  • Bring your own API key for full control of usage and cost
Bulk processing

Spreadsheet import for catalogs of any size.

Built for studios juggling dozens of SKUs at once. Pull product data from Excel (.xlsx), CSV, or a published Google Sheet — using a sheet named Products, every row becomes a label.

  • Multi-product support — entire catalogs in one import
  • Live updates from a published Google Sheet URL
  • Pre-formatted templates for standard, multi-column, and dual-column layouts
  • Catalog feature stores your last import for instant SKU switching

Consistency at scale

Profiles & density modes for studio-ready output.

Save layout configurations — width, font, density modes — under a Profile name for each client or brand. Switch profiles to enforce consistency across every SKU in a project.

  • Profiles: per-client font, width, and density presets
  • Compact Mode: trims vertical spacing for shallow packaging
  • Narrow Mode: condenses to 85% width for tight side panels
  • Automatic hierarchy & rule-weight scaling at any width

From data to label in 4 steps.

The workflow mirrors the logical order of building a label from the top down.

Choose from one of eight official FDA layouts.

2

Set dimensions & styles

3

Input data

What NutriFacts Max is not.

We're sharp about scope on purpose. Here's what this tool does not do.

Not a standalone app

Requires Adobe Illustrator 2022 or later, on macOS or Windows.

Not a regulatory expert

It builds the layouts — your regulatory team still decides which layout your product legally needs.

Not a tutorial

It assumes you already know Illustrator and what a Nutrition Facts label is. It's a tool for automation, not education.

What is NutriFacts Max?
An Adobe Illustrator plugin for packaging designers and art directors that generates FDA-compliant Nutrition Facts labels as fully editable vector artwork — directly in your active document, in seconds.
Which versions of Adobe Illustrator are compatible?
Adobe Illustrator 2022 or later, on both macOS and Windows.
How does the AI Scan feature work?
AI Scan uses Anthropic (Claude) or OpenAI APIs to read nutrition data from visual sources. You can drag-and-drop a JPG, PNG, or WebP image into the panel, or use Scan Selected to convert existing artwork — old vector groups, live text, or placed images — directly from your artboard. It even auto-detects the FDA format and switches the panel to match.
How can I import data from spreadsheets?
Bulk import works with Excel (.xlsx), CSV, or a published Google Sheet. Use a sheet named Products, where each row is a different product. The Catalog feature stores your last import so you can switch between SKUs without re-importing.
Are the generated labels fully editable?
Yes. The output is a grouped vector object placed on its own dedicated layer named "NutriFacts." You can manually adjust colors, paths, and text whenever your design calls for it.
Which FDA label formats are supported?
All 8 official FDA formats: Standard Vertical, Simplified, Micro Side-by-Side, Tabular, Linear V1, Linear V2, Multi-Column, and Dual Column.
Can I save specific settings for different clients?
Yes. The Profiles feature lets you save layout configurations — width, font choice, density modes — under a descriptive name. Ideal for keeping brand consistency across multiple projects for the same client.
What if my label needs to fit a very tight space?
Use the density toggles. Compact Mode trims vertical spacing; Narrow Mode condenses the label to 85% width. For extreme constraints, switch to a Linear or Tabular format.
Does the plugin handle font hierarchy and rule weights automatically?
Yes. When you set a width, the plugin handles tracking, text hierarchy, and rule weights to keep the label legible and compliant at any size. Helvetica LT Std is the default, but you can pick any font installed on your system.
How does licensing work?
Each license is tied to a single computer via a unique Machine ID. To transfer your license to a different machine, contact support to deactivate the old ID and reissue the license.
Do I need an internet connection?
Only for the AI Scan feature, live Google Sheet imports, and license activation. Standard label generation works offline.
Is this an official Adobe product?
No. NutriFacts Max is an independent plugin developed by IdeaFactory. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Adobe.
